About the Course
Who is it for?
Intro to AcroYoga Is our community offering and is perfect for complete newbies and beginners with no experience what so ever.
For those with a bit more experience we will always try to offer you some tweaks and a chance to come back to basics and find more nuance and ease in your foundations. Also we do our best to keep it interesting and keep changing it up so don’t expect to be doing bird again!
What will we do?
We start off with some fun connection exercises to drop in and sync up with our bodies and each other. Then we move on to warm up games to get in to the spirit of play and prepare our bodies.
Next up we explore a few AcroYoga poses and transitions. AcroYoga uses Intelligent body mechanics making things that look difficult a lot easer than you thought. I have experienced first hand so many times students doing things they thought were completely out of there reach. Its really not about how flexible or strong you are! (sure those things can help) It is more about your willingness to work together, support each other, communicate, trust in each other, find the sweet spot, and celebrate in the exploration of movement and play.
We finish it off with a little warm down Thai massage or assisted stretching to give back to and say thank you to our bodies and to each other.
Aaaand after all that a little moment to share about our experience before we jump back into our lives…..
Does it Cost anything?
It is pay as you feel. If you have no dollars that’s ok, we get it, sometimes, times are tough. A class like this in a studio would usually be around $25-$35. We also encourage other kinds of offerings! We love CAKE! So if you love to BAKE!! BRING IT!! Or maybe you’re talented and creative in some other kind of way and you would like to offer or share that with us.
What should I bring?
Water, yoga mat, extra towel to roll up for lower back support if needed. (I do have a couple of mats spare if you're desperate or you forget.) Cash for the magic money box.
Please DON'T wear sunscreen, moisturizers or anything that will make you slippery! We need to be able to grip, hold and balance. Slippery skin can make it more difficult, frustrating and even unsafe.
LEAVE your jewellery OFF or at home.
Chances are you might be exploring a pose where you are upside down so please DON'T eat right before class and if you must eat consciously knowing you are about to be engaged in movement and play.
Got any other questions? Just ask!
Otherwise, bring your friends, invite your neighbours and we shall see you then and there.
If you are unwell or have any flu like symptoms or feel uncomfortable with this idea at all, please stay home.
